THE POSITION OF LAW IN THE HIERARCHY OF SOCIAL VALUES

Abstract

The paper examines the issue of the relative value of the lawfor the development of the individual and of the society, basing of B. A. Kistyakovsky’sarticle «In defense of the law» in «Vekhi» a collection of articles on the Russian intelligentsia. The main result of the study is that the issue of law does not belong much to external institutions and factors, but it is rather an internal ethical basis, along with the highest moral values.
