The purpose of this article is to present the state of the art of the business climate on the basis of the World Bank's "Doing Business" report in the North African countries of Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. Through a detailed analysis of each indicator from 2012 to the latest "Doing Business 2020" report. Then we tried to analyse the interaction between the business climate and the attractiveness of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in these countries. The results of our analysis showed that in the case of North African countries, the business climate alone cannot be a determining factor for the attractiveness of FDI (Without neglecting the essential role played by the business climate).
