Cambios y Permanencias (Dec 2016)
Hasta que la crisis nos separe. Alfonsín, De la Rúa y el partido Radical durante el gobierno de la Alianza (1999-2001)
Abstract
This paper will attempt to account for the relationships maintained during the government of the Alliance (1999-2001) President Fernando De la Rúa, Raúl Alfonsín and the principal exponents of the radical party. To do this, first the dynamics of the Radical Civic Union (UCR) it will be reviewed from 1973 to 1999. Here you will find the main internal intentions of radicalism when it took office with the Alliance in 1999, and then address how they performed various attempts at restructuring the frayed relationship between president and party from October 2000 until October 2001 elections, a period in which prevailed a pattern of reconciliation and permanent conflict. Thus, once we emphasized this, we will analyze what was the role of the party in the last months of the de la Rúa.
