Quelques aspects de la propagation des ondes radioélectriques

Abstract

This paper deals with the scattering of electromagnetic wave in space, especially for radio frequency waves used for broadcasting, TV and telecommunication devices. A short overview without mathematic requirements will be proposed about the basic features of electromagnetic wave propagation. Analysis of various antenna technologies, radiation patterns, effect of earth electrical conductivity and diffraction due to buildings and mountains bring some additional elements. To conclude, a discussion will be opened on the scenic impact of the antennas and few comments will be suggested about the expected trend of antenna population involved by use of the digital modulation. The problem of electromagnetic compatibility will be also mentioned as new challenge of many types of equipment supplied with electrical energy.
