Efeitos da eletroerosão sobre a superfície de peças usinadas.

Abstract

This work presents a study of the infl uence of the electrical discharge machining on the surface integrity of the work part. The surface integrity study is restricted to the following aspects: melt layer thickness and the presence of microcracks existing on the surface of these parts, depending on the intensity of energy used in the process. It was used as material of the parts high speed steel AISI of series M. The results show that it has a trend to the existence of microcracks generated in those machining surfaces and that such surfaces present layers of casting material with changeable thickness.
