Combien d’acceptions le mot keuz ‘regret’ a-t-il ?
Abstract
In this article, we present the criteria for distinguishing the different meanings of a polysemous word. This preliminary differentiation process – or lexemisation – is essential for compiling a description of a word in a dictionary. We use as an example the polysemous Vannetais word keuz ‘regret’, because, on the one hand, its meanings differ significantly from their French equivalents and, on the other, Vannetais has a whole group of meanings that have no French equivalents and that seem to be unknown in KLT Breton. Our theoretical framework is the Meaning-Text theory.
