In view of the adverse effects of geological disasters and destruction of resources and environment caused by mining activities in Fushun West Open-pit Mine on the residents’ living and enterprise operation in the near mining area, the safety and stability of the near mining area are comprehensively evaluated; based on the DPSR model, the factors affecting the safety of near mine urban area are classified, the safety evaluation index system of the near mine urban area is constructed, and the AHP fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used to comprehensively evaluate the safety of the near mine urban area. The results show that from 1960 to 2020, the safety index of the state system near the urban area of Fushun West Open-pit Mine decreased, but the comprehensive safety evaluation index is in an upward trend.
