TAVI in severe aortic stenosis with porcelain aorta: First reports from India with coronary and carotid support

Abstract

Porcelain aorta is emerging as an important indication for Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) even when the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) scores are low. Good midterm results after TAVI in patients with porcelain aorta have been reported in patients with both transfemoral and transapical approach. There are unique challenges faced when TAVI is performed in porcelain aorta which are discussed in our case report.
