Co-seismic surface displacements estimation using DInSAR tehnique
Abstract
The paper represents Differential SAR Interferometry (DInSAR) tehnique that includes the processing of at least two multitemporal SAR images from the same part of terrain. In this way, it is possible to detect and quantify the centimeter changes in the terrain caused by an earthquake with magnitude higher than 5. Deformation is calculated by differentiating the phase component of the two coregistrated SAR images after removing the topographic effect. The paper describes the products of the Sentinel 1 mission, methodology of processing and interpreting the results in order to determine the amount of movements in any area if SAR images have a satisfactory coherence. Procedure was described using two SAR images in south Taiwan area, for earthquake event from 5th February, 2016.
