Ryo Negishi et al. utilize a size-dependent recovery method with gel-based cell manipulation to isolate single circulating tumor cells (CTCs) for transcriptomic analysis. They demonstrate the utility of this approach by analyzing the transcriptomic profile of CTCs from human gastric cancer patients.
