Plato before the change of paradigms that supposes the new technologies of the information and the communication (ICT). Approaches from the Phaedrus.
Abstract
Nowadays the presence of new information and communication technologies (ICT) have great relevance in many aspects of the human life, being education one of them. However, despite this importance it cannot be ignored that to face these technologies it is necessary to assume a reflective and critical stance, which leads us to discern with aplomb its role in the life of the person and society. Due to the evident paradigm changes we are going through nowadays and it’s necessary consideration, we believe that philosophy and especially the thought of Plato, can help and give us clues for discernment. The Greek philosopher lived at a time with very important paradigm transformations that marked the history of the West: the step from oral to written culture. In his work The Phaedrus, we can find lines of thought that will help us in the current reflection.
