At present, there is no standard treatment plan for FOT. We report the case of a 50-year-old male patient diagnosed as having FOT with Fordyce granules and type 2 diabetes mellitus. During hospitalization, the patient received comprehensive and systematic treatment. The patient healed well after surgery and the 10-month follow-up revealed no recurrence. We found eight gene mutations by whole-exome sequencing (WES) of the patient’s peripheral blood. Keywords: follicular occlusion tetrad, Fordyce granules, gene analysis, comprehensive treatment
