We obtained the complete mitochondrial genome of strain 754 of Philosamia cynthia ricini using the next-generation sequencing method. The sequence consists of 15,388 bp and encodes 13 protein-coding genes. The nucleotide composition of Philosamia cynthia ricini 754 was significantly biased (A, G, C, and T was 39.65%, 7.76%, 12.35%, and 40.24%, respectively) with A + T contents of 79.89%. Maximum likelihood phylogenetic analysis showed that the Philosamia cynthia ricini 754 is close to the Antheraea pernyi and the Antheraea yamaai.
