The thoroughness of knowledge economy, makes the countries’ economic potential increasingly dependant on the qualities attributed to the human factor within the education system. Education in the Republic of Moldova is declared by law the number one national priority; this priority of education justifies the significant share of public expenditure directed to this social sphere. Along with the high level of state education spending, Moldova is characterized by low enrollment rates at all levels of the education, resulting in low level of educational spending impact on economic potential recovery mechanism. Low impact of educational public expenditures on economic potential in Moldova is explained by the discrepancy of quality and structure of the education system’s output with the requirements of the real economy.
