Based on the panel data of coastal areas in China from 2006 to 2019, this paper empirically analyzed the impact of industrial agglomeration on regional marine green total factor productivity. The results showed that the relationship between industrial agglomeration and regional marine green total factor productivity showed an inverted "U" curve. Industrial agglomeration improved marine green total factor productivity in the early stage, and after crossing the critical value, it would have a suppressive effect on marine green total factor productivity. From the perspective of regional heterogeneity, the impact of industrial agglomeration on marine green total factor productivity was different in the northern, central and southern regions, among which the northern region was similar to the overall situation, while there were regional differences in the central and southern regions. According to the conclusion of the study, local governments should ensure the sustainable development of the marine economy according to the local industrial agglomeration and local conditions.
