Evolution of the list of saints from 1781 to the book of saints of the Roman martyrology of the 21th century in the diocese of Ourense

Abstract

This article presents a study on the hagiographic value of fifty four saints, blessed and venerable related to the Diocese of Ourense in an unpublished manuscript of the University of Santiago de Compostela in 1781 is offered. After appreciating the influence of false chronicles that vitiate the truth of historical memory about some of these saints, and bear in mind the progress that the Bollandists Parents have the hagiographic science, it presents the list of the two saints and twenty blesseds who make up the current diocesan saints gathered in the Roman Martirology, briefly giving some details about each of them, as well as some literatura. Ourense is the richest in number Galician Diocese of Santos.
