DOCUMENTOS DO PODER JUDICIÁRIO E DE CARTÓRIOS NO ARQUIVO PÚBLICO DO ESTADO DO PARÁ: alguns aprontamentos

Abstract

The Public Archive of the State of Pará keeps, preserves and makes available an important and valuable collection belonging to the Judiciary Power, which are the historical documents of the judicial courts and notaries. Today, the Public Archive only collects documentation from the state Executive Branch, but at some point in its history this documentation was accepted and disseminated as belonging to the archives of the archival institution. This article aims to show the importance of these documents for historical research, as well as problematize the concept of archival historical heritage, through a bibliographic review. Authors from the areas of Archivology, Anthropology and History were used to support an analysis of this historical collection.
