Several stepwise tolerances covering the entire weighing range is proposed for efficient verification of the automatic checkweigher. First, the risks of false decisions of the current OIML R51 method developed by International Organization of Legal Metrology were evaluated by Monte Carlo simulation. Subsequently, several stepwise tolerances were set with the goal of increasing the sum of risks to less than 0.0063%. The risks of these tolerances were also simulated by Monte Carlo method. As a result, it was confirmed that the sum of the increased risks was less than 0.0063%.
