The following investigation presents the evaluation of the pollution indices for the Tejo and Chiquito rivers within the urban area of Ocaña; Six strategic sampling points were chosen in rainy and dry seasons, covering almost all of the two water sources. Physicochemical and microbiological parameters were analyzed for the use of the contamination indices, observing that the index with the highest incidence is that of organic matter, resulting in a very high degree of contamination throughout the study section (except for the Pradera point). , which is the point of birth of the Chiquito River), high conductivity measurements are also identified that show that water bodies are affected by ion discharges, increasing the rate of contamination by mineralization. The contamination by suspended solids is varied in the six sampling points, observing a natural behavior of the bodies of water during their journey through the urban area. By way of conclusion, the formulation and application of an environmental management plan, actions in sanitation and management of discharges that are participatory and inclusive, whose formulation base has ecological attributes and awareness of the goods and services they offer, is suggested.
