Quand la voix de l’album touche aux marges de la langue. Le petit Roi de Rêvolie de Marie-Sabine Roger et Aline Bureau
Abstract
The picture book can be defined as a combination of text and images, oscillating between poetry and narration. Using the specific example of Le Petit Roi de Rêvolie—a dream story abounding in neologisms—we can question the importance of voice in the picture book: can it be dissociated from the medium, from the object-book? To what extent does the picture book lend itself to a formal voice independent of illustrations? Which methods are best fitted to give access to creativity, and to poetic possibility within the chosen picture book?
