The South American Amazon increasingly has global implications and diverse interests in the interstate system, mainly through the power projects of national states, such as the United States and China. Based on the prerogative of the Amazonian space as a frontier for capitalism’s expansion, a battle of giants ensued in the heart of South America. Thus, the present research has as its central hypothesis the exponential geostrategic relevance of the region in the international system in the century XXI. Thus, the objective is to understand the power correlations in the region analyzed from the perspective of the US hybrid war and the Chinese hybrid geoeconomy in the south American Amazon. Under a realistic perspective and using an empirical-deductive methodology based on quantitative and qualitative data, the aim is to theoretically and scientifically support such movements, giving rise to counter-hegemonic positions in the specific context of Amazonian material conditions.
