PSYCHOMOTOR AND ATTITUDINAL INFLUENCES DETERMINED BY THE STUDY OF A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT
Abstract
The study contains two experiments: the first is a statistic of the results of the physical activities during the period between 2012-2016, of the students at the “George Enescu” National University of Arts in Iasi at academic competitions for students. The second experiment consists in conducting a postural evaluation of two groups of students studying at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design and the Faculty of Musical Interpretation. The experimental groups included 80 students and the postural evaluation activity took place in the academic year 2015-2016. Both experiments are presented in order to highlight the positive effects but also negative influences determined by the study of a musical instrument. The motivation for this topic has started after we have noticed the outstanding achievements of students at music speciality, in the last five years, at physical activities within the discipline Physical Education. We also want to highlight some positive influences, but also some negative influences caused by the study of a musical instrument. The information obtained led to the students' awareness of the priority role of posture exercises and convinced them of the necessity of a specialist evaluation of the spine.
