Nanotechnologies for Enhancing Anti-Tumor Therapies
Abstract
The structure and function of the tumor microenvironment (TME) are closely related to the occurrence and metastasis of tumors. It not only provides an infiltration site for tumor cells, but also exchanges enzymes and cytokines with them, promoting tumor growth. Therefore, TME targeted therapy has been given more and more attention. In this review article, we will briefly introduce various nano-delivery systems that are used in targeting TME (micro-acid, hypoxia, stromal cells, and tumor vasculature), as well as their application in tumor therapy. In addition, we will talk about recent hot topics, including the research status of various nano-delivery systems for tumor immunotherapy and the potential of exosomes as drug delivery systems. We will also discuss some challenges associated with TME, as well as the field's future potential.
