About Specific Character of Argillaceous Minerals in Sedimentary Formations
Abstract
Argillaceous minerals in deposits of various sedimentary formations are characterized by specific chemical-mineralogical and morphological genetic features changing in different stages of sedimentogenesis, diagenesis, catagenesis, and metagenesis. Argillaceous minerals and their associations in terrigenous, terrigenous carbonate, carbonate, volcanic, and halogenic formations are characterized. Detail characterization is given for argillaceous minerals of early stages of sedimentogenesis and diagenesis (partially catagenesis), where the majority of ancient (Upper Paleozoic and Mesozoic) diamondiferous placers occur. Contained their the kimberlite indicator minerals are used for prospecting the primary deposits of diamonds by the heavy concentrate-mineralogical method. The importance of investigating for forecast-prospecting tasks the material composition of volcanogenic formationand specific features of its distribution during formation of different in age collectors of diamonds on specific diamondiferous regions of the Siberian platform is shown.
