Due to the environmental deterioration caused by global warming and the increasing prevalence of renewable energy sources, they are being used to improve the power generation capabilities of electrical grids. Power electronics are becoming more prevalent in this area. PV inverter technology is becoming increasingly important due to the increasing number of renewable energy-based power plants being built. Nevertheless, power quality of the grid is of major concern. Hence in this paper Multifunctional VSI is presented for power quality improvement. The proposed approach is utilized inductive coupling and capacitive coupling through multifunctional VSI for harmonic compensation for the event of fault in the line. The results are compared with and without compensation and proved that with LC compensation the waveform quality has been improved considerably.
