Mitochondrial TrxR2 regulates metabolism and protects from metabolic disease through enhanced TCA and ETC function

Abstract

TrxR2 overexpression in mice enhances metabolism and prevents high-fat diet induced metabolic deficits in mice through alteration in function of several enzymes in the tricarboxylic acid cycle and complexes of the electron transport chain.
