Design and Practice of Reverse Construction Method with Large Opening in Shanghai Hudong Cultural Center Foundation Pit
Abstract
In view of the very thick soft soil area with complicated surroundings, applicable conditions and characteristics, and design essentials of the design and practice of reverse construction method with large opening in Shanghai Hudong Cultural Center Foundation Pit are discussed with the retaining system consisted of temporary retaining piles in the perimeter and horizontal beam slab structure substitute for supporting struts, which include the overall scheme,retaining structure, beam slab structure struts system, vertical bearing support system, and the artesian water control measures. At the same time, with the field monitoring results of foundation pit deformation and surrounding environment, lateral deformation of retaining piles and settlement of building outside of the pit are analyzed during the whole construction. The results prove the successful implementation of this design can reduce the difficulty of reverse construction, improve the excavation efficiency, shorten the construction period, and ensure the safety of the foundation pit.
