Phase separation driven by interchangeable properties in the intrinsically disordered regions of protein paralogs

Abstract

A comparison of structure-function relationship for intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) among paralogs shows that differences in physicochemical properties of the IDR between paralogs are compensated for to converge on the same biophysical function.
