This chapter examines the relationship between violence towards women and reproductive justice. It is argued that malformed social narratives strengthen structural sin, limiting moral agency. The connection between social narrative and gender violence is illustrated by reference to the system of Magdalene Laundries and Mother and Baby Homes established throughout Ireland in the twentieth century. The chapter concludes by examining some of the implications for Catholic teaching.
