New Tendencies in Seismic Exploration

Abstract

The present article reflects the result of a work of bibliographical investigation carried out by research groups GEOPET and GEOMAT Department of Geosciences of the Cujae in order to give answer to a recent proposal about collaboration topics formulated by the Union Cubapetróleo (CUPET) in an environment of the existent traditional relationships among the mentioned institutions; at the same time the work pursued the purpose to upgrade information with a view to the teaching of the subject «Seismic Methods for prospecting and exploration of hydrocarbons» which is imparted at the fourth course of Geophysical Engineering career in the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Cujae. The aim of the research was the new technological possibilities of the seismic method of exploration at international scale, especially concerning to the stage of oil fields exploitation and to the exploration of deposits of non conventional gas, aspects to which the present publication is dedicated.
