Participarea Marinei Române la apărarea Dobrogei în timpul Primului Război Mondial
Abstract
The first fight mission was a torpedo attack against a group of 5 Austrian-Hungarian monitors, which were at Rusciuk (Ruse), executed on the evening of 13th/14th August 1916 by a group of 3 boats, commanded by captain Aurel Negulescu. Starting with August 18th 1916, the Danube Flotilla had as missions the support of the Romanian land forces, to be found at the bridgehead from Turtucaia, destined to ban the forward direction of the enemy towards Bucharest. Until the end of the campaign of the year 1916, the river boats had direct and permanent contact with the enemy at Rasova and Flămânda (September), Cernavodă, Topalu - Hârşova, (October - November), Brăila, Galaţi, Tulcea up to Chilia.
