The authors in their study examined the forms of state support implemented in the Russian Federation to increase labor force and enhance the budgetary independence of the Russian Arctic regions. They investigated the impact of state support on business development and its effects on demographic indicators and gross regional product growth in the Russian regions encompassed by the Arctic zone. The preferential regime of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation represents the latest regulatory mechanism aimed at counteracting negative socio-economic trends in the macro-region. The purpose of this study is to analyze the transformational changes in the relationship between employment and investment due to the implementation of the preferential regime in the regions fully or partially included in the Russian Arctic.
