In this study, it was aimed to determine and evaluate the plant asset in 12 mosques and 1 church in Sur -Diyarbakır. For this purpose, the plants in the study areas were identified, their dendrological characteristics were determined, their diameters were measured and their suitability for use in the historical space was evaluated. In the study, a total of 199 trees and shrubs were identified. The most common species in the study areas were eastern sycamore (Platanus orientalis L.) and white mulberry (Morus alba L.). In addition, it was found out that the protection works for study areas together with their surroundings were insufficient in terms of the improvement and protection of historical spaces. In this sense, misused species can be replaced with native plants in steppe vegetation.
