Foucault’s uses in Argentina (1958-1989)

Michel Foucault’s texts and elaborations have found a popular reception among Argentina’s intellectuals within the social sciences and humanities. The presentation of the research results on the uses of the formulations of the French thinker in Argentina between 1958 and 1989 reflect the ways in which they articulate with specific interpretations of the local culture and politics. Also, exploring Foucauldian proposals’ heterogeneous reception shows various reading practices and landslides struggles for meaning in not only academic disciplines but also in ideological positions, touching deeply the local culture.
