The article presents a description of the translated into Russian language Structured Observation Scale FEAS (Functional Emotional Assessment Scale). This scale is based on the stages of functional socio-emotional development identified by its author, the American psychiatrist Dr. Stanley Greenspan. The concept of stages of functional socio-emotional development is the basis of DIRFloortime - a method of helping children with various developmental disorders. The FEAS Scale is a method of assessing children between the ages of 7 months and 4 years who are at risk or who have problems in the development of social activity, attachment, play interaction, and emotional development. The uniqueness of the scale is that it is able to assess not only the child's development, but also the ability of his or her parent (caregiver) to maintain positive and harmonious interaction with the child. This feature of the scale significantly expands the possibilities of its application in various psychological and pedagogical practices. The article describes illustrative examples and possibilities for practical application of this scale in counseling families in the early intervention system.
