Eleven Years of Evaluation of the Treatment Plans and Treatments Accomplished by the Discipline of Integrated Clinic, Araçatuba Dental School - UNESP
Abstract
Objective: The aim of this work was to evaluate the treatment plans and the treatments accomplished by the discipline of Integrated Clinic, Araçatuba Dental School - UNESP, from 1993 to 2003. Method: Date were collected from 1287 patient records who were treated by the department during that period of time, and organized in specific form to be analyzed. Results: Among the main dental needs detected it was possible to show up periodontal basic procedures (84.61%) and fixed prosthesis (50.89% units, 27.04% 3 elements). In the middle of developed treatments, the most unfolded were: resin (15.55%), amalgam (7.70%) and periodontal scaling (12.33%). Conclusion: Based on the results, it was possible to conclude that plans of treatment developed in the discipline of integrated clinic present a logical sequence, that it makes possible a more rational treatment and that the treatments accomplished what was proposed in the plans, despite of changes due to patient's economic problems.
