In obituary the main milestones of scientific creativity of Dr. habil. professor Niyaz A. Mazhitov are marked by the archaeologists of Bashkortostan Republic. A significant contribution of the scientists in archaeology of the South Ural region during the early medieval period as well as the high medieval one is defined.
