Abstract
Social innovation is a field of study that is currently growing, especially in Administration. This article aims to identify the variables of social innovation analysis of Buckland and Murillo (2013) in the Pastoral da Criança, a social action organization of the CNBB. The article carried out a theoretical survey on social innovation and its five variables of analysis, on infant mortality and on mortality in childhood, besides analyzing, through a case study in the Pastoral da Criança, the existence of these variables. The research has a theoretical-empirical, descriptive nature, with a qualitative approach. Data collection was based on secondary data from documents and the organization's website. This article concludes that there is social innovation in the Pastoral da Criança, noting that in the five variables it is possible to note the existence of innovative factors in the fight against infant mortality and mortality in childhood.
