The use of videos for the efficiency on the physics learning-in-action in lab
Abstract
Laboratory work, LW, in physics teaching, are usually presented as a structured activity, which lets little opportunity for making decisions about the inquiry process, leaving implicit the relationship between theory and methodology. The physics LW at Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas designed according to a learning model and with open tasks mediated by the teacher, has been successful in the learning (theoretical and experimental). This proposal requires more time than traditional labs. It proposes the use of videos of experiments, in order to reduce the execution time of the Experimental Design Phase without adversely affecting learning. In a trial with seven students in the Laboratory I, was obtained a positive trend in the expected learning in theoretical and methodological domains. Run time of Phase II was lower when working with videos, that when the experiment was assembled. Students appreciated the use of this technology in the laboratory.
