MEASUREMENT OF η—MESON NUCLEAR MODIFICATION FACTOR IN U+U COLLISIONS
Abstract
Experimental study of the initial and final state effects of nuclear mater in heavy ion collisions is used in research of the properties of quark-gluon plasma. Final state effects are observed in the jet-quenching during the fragmentation of hard scattering partons produced in the collision of heavy ultrarelativistic nuclei. Measurements of nuclear modification factor of η-mesons at high pT are used to characterize the final state interaction effects. Colliding system of uranium nuclei at 192 GeV presents a great opportunity to research jet-quenching effect in non-spherical heavy ion collision system with highest energy density at the RHIC collider
