Electrochemical determination of endosulfan in vegetable samples using mercury film modified glassy carbon electrode
Abstract
The objective of this study was to develop a simple, stable, selective and reproducible mercury film modified glassy carbon electrode (MF/GCE) for the electrochemical determination of endosulfan. Under the optimal conditions (pH, scan rate and accumulation conditions), the electrode showed a good linear response to endosulafn in the range of 5 × 10−8–1 × 10−5 M concentrations. The detection limit was 5.910−8 M with good repeatability (RSD of 2.0%) and reproducibility (RSD of 4.3%). In addition, the analytical application of the proposed sensor was successfully applied for the determination of endosulfan in onion and tomato samples.
