Visual learning in a virtual reality environment upregulates immediate early gene expression in the mushroom bodies of honey bees

Abstract

The neural bases of visual learning in bees have been understudied, relative to the olfactory learning process. Using a 3D virtual reality environment and gene expression analyses, the neural underpinnings of visual learning are explored here.
