Pneumatosis intestinalis after orthognathic surgery
Abstract
The occurrence of pneumatosis intestinalis after oral and maxillofacial surgery represents an extremely rare but potentially life-threatening complication. We report the case of a 32-year-old female patient who developed pneumatosis intestinalis with mediastinal emphysema and pneumothorax after orthognathic surgery, as well as the possible causes and its management.
