Purpose. Development of a new method for the combined treatment of cataract and glaucoma with a drainage of suprachoroidal space using the autoscleral flap and evaluation of the results in combined surgical treatment of patients operated on phacoemulsification combined with deep non-penetrating sclerectomy and drainage of the suprachoroidal space by means of the autoscleral flap.Material and methods. The study evaluated results of the surgical treatment of cataract combined with glaucoma in 38 patients (36 eyes) who underwent the simultaneous phacoemulsification with nonpenetrating deep sclerectomy and drainage of the suprachoroidal space.Results. In the long-term postoperative period (11 months) an IOP normalization (16.0±2.3mmHg) occurred in 36 patients and in two cases there was noted an IOP elevation, that entailed the hypotensive therapy using β-blockers.Conclusion. Non-penetrating deep sclerectomy with suprachoroidal space drainage using the autoscleral flap allows to achieve a stable hypotensive effect and does not require the application of donor material.
