Digital projects carried out by Sdi-Società Dantesca Italiana

Abstract

After a brief introduction defining the meaning of the term ‘infrastructural’ related to digital resources in the Humanities, I talk about what Sdi in Florence created and made available in this field: Dante Online and Dantesca.it. I did not considered appropriate to explain the individual functions made available to users by these two sites in order to search for information on Dante and his works, since anyone can access Dantesca.it (and from here also enter Dante Online) and start browsing easily. The contribution focuses and briefly historicizes the main innovations (Catalogue of manuscripts, Bibliography, International Bibliography) introduced by foresighted scholars in an era in which they could probably only perceive their strength and usefulness, without having still solid, consolidated and high-level examples, with a few exceptions, on which to base their trust.
