Fr. Arturo M.ª Cayuela SJ (1883-1955) and the Formative Value of the Classical Humanities

Abstract

The present article wants to bring to light the references in which Fr. Arturo M.ª Cayuela SJ supported himself to elaborate a methodology of the Classical Humanities. To this is added a biographical approach. The present contribution therefore seeks to deepen into the figure of this humanist, who belonged to a generation of clergymen who maintained esteem for the Classics in the first half of the twentieth century in Spain.
