REALIZATION OF THE POTENTIAL OF YOUTH IN THE CONTEXT OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT (On materials of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic)

Abstract

Purpose. The aim of the work is to identify and analyze existing mechanisms for realizing the potential of youth in the context of sustainable development in Kabardino-Balkaria and to identify ways to improve their effectiveness. Methodology. The research is based on mass and expert surveys of the population of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. The sample is stratified, structured by sex, age, nationality and place of residence, sample size of 1200 respondents; interviewing in focus groups. Results. It is established that several basic mechanisms for realizing the potential of youth are singled out: volunteer activity, training of management personnel, development of physical culture and sports. However, there is an imbalance in the priorities of the youth policy towards the development of physical culture and sports. In general, the youth policy of the republic is characterized by inconsistency and contradictions. Practical implications. The results of the research can be applied in the sphere of forecasting socio-political processes and designing youth policy programs in the region.
