Abstract

Review of the book by E.V. Bolshakov, I.D. Nazarov reflects the value of a philosophical and legal study of moral and legal problems and the foundations of the phenomenon of justice in the Middle Ages and the era of modern times. Based on domestic and foreign philosophical and legal views on such phenomena of social reality as morality, law, justice, the authors built a philosophical picture of the evolution of ideas about justice and its moral foundations in the era of Christian justice in the Middle Ages and the New Age. The monograph under review is based on the original idea of four concepts of moral concepts of justice in the history of Western countries: «austoritas», «intra ecclesiam» and «bona fama», «ex officio», «jus cogens».
