Context and purpose. Due to the contribution of banking facilities and social capital in sustainable rural and nomadic development, identification and explanation the relationship between components of sustainable rural and nomadic development, banking facilities and social capital of cooperatives have been studied.Methodology/approach. The present study was conducted using qualitative approach. The participants included all the expert managers in the field of banking. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews. Content analysis method was used to analyze the data.Findings and conclusions. The results of the research showed that for optimal policy making in the field of sustainable rural and nomadic development with three components of environmental sustainability, economic sustainability and social sustainability through banking facilities, the social banking model with three components of profit, people and environment By facilitating social capital of cooperatives with five components of social awareness, social participation, social network, social cohesion and social trust, it can be a suitable model.Originality. Previous studies focusing on sustainable development have mainly focused on the relationship between banking facilities and sustainable development; While the present study focused on three variables of sustainable rural/nomadic development, banking facilities and social capital of cooperatives, examined the interactions between them and drew a suitable model for managing the interactions of the three areas.
