Primitive neuroectodermal tumor of the kidney: report of a patient
Abstract
Kidney neoplasms amount to 2-3% of total neoplasms; among them, primitive neuroectodermal tumors are not common. The case of a 28-year-old female patient, with a history of bronchial asthma, who went to see the doctor because she incidentally noticed an increase of volume in the left side, is presented. After some studies, a presumptive diagnosis of left kidney tumor was reached, and a radical left nephrectomy was performed. The patient had a favourable evolution in the postoperative period. The histological reportshowed a primitive neuroectodermal tumor of the kidney.
